The Mighty Oak.

An Original Dark Poetry piece featuring the tale of a lovestruck young man who kills his beautiful girlfriend and buries her in the woods!Inspired by Josh O’Neill – You Know who you are!

Deep in the dark wood
Where the mighty oak grows
Beneath the green moss
That’s topped with fresh snow

In a cold, shallow grave
There sleeps poor Marie
Once lay with her true love
But now feeds the tree

Been so many springs
Since she drew her last breath
But seldom is seen
So much beauty from death

For the snowdrops that bloom
On her rotting remains
Now mark out that place
A cold grave with no name

Where once her true love
Gave a last sweet embrace
Then stabbed her to death
Shovelled dirt on her face

He loved her too much
To let such beauty bloom
Just to wither with age
So she rests in the gloom

Deep in the dark wood
On his small patch of shame
She’s remembered forever
While winds whisper her name
