That Woman.

An Original Dark Poetry piece inspired by Antigonish
(I met a man who wasn’t there) – William Hughes Mearns.

I passed that woman on the stair
I’m not sure she was even there
Since that woman walked away
I think I see her every day

I see that woman when I awake
I’m sure, my sanity she’ll take
Since that woman walked away
I think I see her every day

I see that woman on the street
In every single soul, I meet
Since that woman walked away
I think I see her every day

I hear that woman when all alone
I think I hear her on my phone
Since that woman walked away
I think I hear her every day

I hear her name in every song
As they sing the lyrics wrong
Since that woman walked away
I hear her name most every day

I hear that woman in my head
I think she’ll haunt me till I’m dead
Now that woman’s walked away
My only peace, an early grave!
